This is the second in a series of stained glass wall hangings on the same grid background. Tulips are lovely bold shapes have wonderful clear colours which lend themselves to stained glass applique. I have used some gorgeous batiks for the flowers as they are really rich with nice markings on them.

This lovely fresh sampler for Spring is the first of four samplers for the seasons. This Spring sampler has some basic applique and the rest is very basic stitching. I use mainly chain stitch as I am useless at backstitch but the joy of this type of stitchery is that you can use whatever stitch suits you. I promise that the catkins and the blue tits are very easy to stitch with very basic stitches. All is explained strip by strip.
